Automation Engineer
Location: Rapid City SD
Industry: Manufacturing/Mining (Cement / Concrete MFG Company)
Base Salary: $100k-$130k+ (Depending on experience)
Bonus: 12.50%
Relocation: $15k
Position Overview
The Automation Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining automation systems to improve production efficiency and ensure optimal operation of manufacturing processes. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to integrate various systems and troubleshoot any issues that arise in automated environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop automated systems and processes to enhance production efficiency.
- Program and configure HMI, PLC, and other automation equipment.
- Conduct troubleshooting and resolve issues related to plant automation systems.
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure smooth operation and reliability of automated systems.
- Participate in equipment installation, testing, and commissioning activities.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize automation processes.
- Document system configurations, modifications, and maintenance activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field Preferred (Experience will be considered in lieu of degree)
- Proven experience in HMI, Plant Automation, and PLC programming.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to analyze and resolve technical issues.
- Familiarity with automation design principles and practices.
- Experience in equipment maintenance and installation.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
- Experience working in Cement MFG (BONUS)
